7:00 – the first present is stolen – Holiday Party and Gift Exchange
New to the guild and not sure how it works? Every December meeting, we ALL bring a potluck food item to create a great Holiday groaning board, plus a gift to participate in the gift exchange.
Food: Find the FIRST LETTER of your FIRST NAME and bring a dish for our holiday celebration!
A – E: Beverages
F – J: Appetizer or Salad
K – O: Entree
P – Z: Dessert
Gift Exchange: Everyone who wishes to participate in our gift exchange should bring a new or re-giftable gift. Wrap it up – the more elaborate the better! All gifts are piled on a center table, and we take turns (by number lottery) selecting a gift from the pile. Gifts are opened and shown to the group. At this point, your gift is fair game! Other members may choose to select a gift either from the gift table, or they may elect to "steal" yours! If your gift is stolen, then you get to select a new gift from the table. No guarantees – that one could get stolen too! It's a fun time and always brings a lot of laughs.
Gift suggestions: A new item is great; it can be a sewing or craft item, or completely unrelated like bath salts, a scarf or a book. This is also a good time to re-gift those lovely-but-not-for-you gifts received last holiday. Don't be afraid to bring an item you don't care for – one woman's poison is another one's treasure! Just please be sure that your items are in new or like-new condition.
There you have it, our annual Holiday Party! See you there!
