Fabric
10 - 12 pieces for the
smaller quilt to equal 6 yards
15+ pieces for the larger
quilt to equal 10-12 yards
Fabrics should be large to
medium florals from a color family.
This is not a high contrast quilt so they should be medium light to
medium or medium dark to medium for
the full color wash effect. It’s
helpful if the fabrics contain more than one color and not read as solids.
Before
class
Cut out some of the large
9.5” squares from the large florals.
“Fussy cut” some of the large flowers.
Also cut a few 6.5” and 3.5”
squares from each fabric. Don’t cut all of your fabric in case we don’t use it
in your quilt, just bring all the leftovers to class. Feel free to bring as any different
fabrics as you want…the more the merrier in this quilt.
A version of the quilt that
I made can be seen on gloriouscolor.com under the title blue potpourri. I used medium to medium dark fabrics to
create this quilt.
I also designed a smaller
version 57” X 87” for those of you who don’t want to make the large version.
I’ll bring the patterns to the workshop.
